Bryce, Zion & North Rim
Day 12 - Bryce Canyon National Park to Panguitch Lake, UT

We packed up camp and headed to breakfast just outside the Park. After breakfast, we descended UT 12 through Red Canyon back to US 89. The brake that Dave installed worked fine as I result I survived to tell you about it.

We headed North on US 89 to Panguitch where we bought groceries. After loading up, we got a quick sandwich and began our climb up UT 143. This road is especially nice. We climbed for the next 18 miles through forest and fields. We rode through an especially nice valley that I really liked.

The aspens are at their peak color now. They are a bright yellow and shimmer in the wind.

We ended our day at this funky little fishing camp on Panguitch Lake. The "Sleazy Riders", Bob, Ken and Duane rented a cabin. Wimps. The "Real Cyclists" Jean, Dave and I rented a campsite.

We watched President Bush's address to Congress tonight. I thought he did a good job laying out our country's position against terrorists and those regimes that support them. Decent people can't allow these horrific acts to go unanswered.

We made an excellent supper of ham, vegetables and mashed potatoes. I am about to start sugar cookies for dessert. Yum.

The sugar cookies didn't bake very well in the camp oven. Fourtunately, Duane and Bob found an alternate sugar source.
