Yucatan Bicycle Tour
Day 15 Punta Bete to Cancun

Street flooding in Cancun
I can certainly say that I've had better days cycling. The highway between Punta Bete and Cancun was flat and uninteresting. The sky was overcast and with intermittent showers.

Apparently Cancun received heavy rain the night before. We saw a lot of street flooding I dumped my bike into a foot of water trying to ride through a puddle. That was a dumb move. Paul also flatted a few miles from our hotel which only added to our fun.

By the time, we got to our hotel, we were wet and dirty. We retrieved our bike cases, disassembled and packed our bikes away.

In the evening, we celebrated the end of our trip with a trip to Senior Frogs. That place is described at a tacky temple of inebriation! Excessive consumption of alcohol isn't discouraged. In fact, it is strongly encouraged. Paul and I were drinking 2 foot tall frozen margaritas. It was a total party atmosphere. We loved it. It was a lot of fun watching people do things they wouldn't dream of doing at home. We left just before 2 a.m. Other than totally trashing our livers, we both conducted ourselves as gentlemen.
